Kojic Acid
Kojic acid is a naturally derived compound produced during the fermentation of certain fungi and is commonly used in skincare for pigmentation control. It works by inhibiting tyrosinase, an enzyme responsible for melanin production in the skin. By slowing excess melanin formation, kojic acid helps reduce dark spots, sun damage, and uneven skin tone. Due to its targeted action on pigmentation, it is widely used in dermatologically tested skincare formulations.

In skincare, kojic acid is commonly formulated as a kojic acid serum to deliver controlled and even application. Regular use of a kojic acid serum helps fade hyperpigmentation, acne marks, and tanning over time without bleaching the skin. While effective, kojic acid works best when used in recommended concentrations and paired with sun protection. It is suitable for most skin types but should be introduced gradually, especially for sensitive skin.
