Keratin
Keratin is a structural protein naturally present in hair, skin, and nails, where it provides strength, elasticity, and protection. In hair, keratin forms the main building block of the hair shaft and helps maintain smoothness and resistance to damage. Daily exposure to heat, chemicals, pollution, and UV radiation can reduce natural keratin levels, leading to weak, rough, or frizzy hair. Topical keratin helps reinforce damaged areas and improve hair integrity.

In hair care, keratin is commonly used in serums, shampoos, conditioners, masks, and treatments to repair, smooth, and strengthen hair fibres. It works by filling gaps in the hair cuticle and forming a protective layer that reduces breakage and moisture loss. Keratin-based products do not permanently change hair structure unless combined with chemical straightening agents. When used regularly, keratin helps improve hair texture, shine, and manageability.
